Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, a musician's daughter from Mexico was born into a music-loving family. Growing up she was influenced by classical music, boleros and the traditional romantic, ranchero and romance ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos and operas as well as other dramatic performances. Ana began to learn how to play and sing at an early age alongside her mother. She was given more formal training in singing at the age of 16 old with the renowned Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She furthered her training in music in the School of Music of Guadalajara University and later at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara along with Mexico City, she was a member of many opera ensembles as well as chamber groups. In 2000, she relocated back to in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Later, in 2007, she returned to her new home in Southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo for many private functions. Her love and passion in music, art and performing keeps her involved with many local organizations as a performer and teacher. Ana has been a participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, with her performance her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly among the younger generation, for keeping this music vibrant.
